CALL FOR APPLICATIONS / Choreographic Competition
We are inviting you to apply for 13th International Festival of Choreographic Miniatures, a competition for contemporary dance choreographers, which is to be held on May 11th-14th, 2009. in the National Theater, Belgrade, Serbia.
Mission of the Festival of the Choreographic Miniatures is to promote contemporary dance in a wide range of styles and to introduce to the wider audience and professionals the current and up-coming choreographic trends.

Criteria
- originality and inovation in choreography
- invention in usage of stage, music and other stage elements
- balanced estetics
- high level of interperetation and performing

Competition requirements: maximum length of the choreography is 10 minutes and must be premiered at the Festival.

An international jury of five members will award three best choreographic miniatures with the following Prizes: 1st Prize: UniCredit Bank Award Eur3000 and a production for the Belgrade Summer Festival 2010. (BELEF), 2nd Prize: UniCredit Bank Award Eur2000, 3rd Prize: UniCredit Bank Award Eur1000.

Deadline: Completed application form and the recording of the choreography (on VHS or PAL-DVD) must reach the Festival office by April 10th, 2009. The video must only contain the choreography to be performed in the competition.

Receipt of your application will be acknowledged by email.
Admission to the competition will be decided by a pre-jury and the applicants will be informed by April 15th, 2009. Admission to the competition is subject to the organizers’ consent.
Selected choreographers must confirm acceptance by April 20th.

The final selection will be held before the jury on May 11th in the ballet studio of the National Theatre.
Festival will provide the hotel accommodation (room and breakfast) for competitors selected by the jury for the Final Selection.
Travel expences are not covered by the Festival.
Please be aware that videotapes and DVDs cannot be returned to the applicants.
