About

TANZPLAN DRESDEN seeks to give new impulses to the contemporary dance scene in Dresden and is therefore looking for two production teams to come to Dresden and create a new project for the dance evening of TANZPLAN DRESDEN in June 2009. Choreographers may apply with a team of for instance multimedia artists, composers, stage designers, musicians, dancers, or artists of other genres. The prime funding criteria is to support and promote young and upcoming talents.

The new projects will be premiered on June 12th 2009 at the simper kleine szene (studio theatre of the Semper Opera) followed by a further five performances on 13/14/19/20 und 21 June 2009.

Applicants should aim at creating an experimental, interdisciplinary dance project with special focus on contemporary dance elements. Applications from production teams residing in Saxony or with a strong connection to Saxony are particularly welcome.

Contribution

Each production will be supported with a maximum of € 20,000 which needs to cover salaries and any other production related expenditure. The exact funding amount will be individually determined by the jury. Each production team will be provided with a mentor to assist with the project.

At the semper kleine szene stage including all technical equipment as well as rehearsal rooms are available.

One of the productions may possibly get further support from TANZPLAN DRESDEN.
