description
The MAIPR is a 16-month course offered by three European universities: Warwick in the UK; Amsterdam in the Netherlands; and Tampere in Finland (the latter in cooperation with Helsinki).
The programme is funded by the European Union, which also provides up to two Erasmus Mundus Group A Scholarships of 36 000 euros each to selected students from the West Balkans and Turkey.
The course starts in September 2010 and finishes with submission of the final dissertation on 2nd January 2012.
Students study at two institutions: a ‘home’ institution (where they start and end the course), and a ‘mobility’ (where they study during spring and summer). Students are taught at Warwick and Amsterdam, and either university can be allocated as home or mobility.
Those successfully completing the MAIPR programme receive a double degree from Warwick and Amsterdam. This is a combination of Warwick’s MA in International Performance Research and Amsterdam's MA Theaterwetenschap.
There are three modalities:
- Scholarship: traditional archival-based research or performance analyses
- Curation: refers to a range of activities including management, design, and documentation of exhibits, performances, or other formal events, and dramaturgy.
- Creative Practice: studio-based explorations in time and space of representations of reality. May involve physical or virtual performances, workshops and rehearsal room.
Applicants apply through Warwick’s Postgraduate Admissions Office.
