Through the project Knowledge smuggling! (Šverc znanja!) we would like to open a temporary hole in the dominant knowledge market and intervene in the existing system of production and exchange of knowledge, smuggling it from official educational institutions into the sphere of individual needs and as-free-as-possible cultural spaces.

Collapsible Winter School

January 24-30 2008. / MKM

Long-term project Knowledge Smuggling! was lounched with a week-long regional Collapsible Winter School taking place in Magacin from January 24-31 2008. The school included a programme of workshops, trainings, laboratories, lectures and presentations in the fields of performing practices, criitical theories, digital technologies and free culture. The school was conceived and realised as a self-organised initiative of TkH platform collaborators and s-o-s project participants, with the aim to function as a collective self-educational platform. In this view the programme of the school was made ad-hoc, emerging from concrete, individual interests and needs of the collaborators, with no executive manager or editor that give (scientific, theoretical, artistic or any other) legitimacy to its curriculum. The Winter School was realised in the frame of East Dance Academy platform, in collaboration with Multimedia institute MAMA from Zagreb, performance group BAD.co from Zagreb, Maska Institute from Ljubljana and Other Scene initiative from Belgrade.

After the winter school the Knowledge Smuggling! project continues as a long-term educational programme of the TkH Platform in collaboration with Other Scene.
