[call for proposals] DISKURS 09 / deadline: 31. 05. 2009. / Germany

This year's DISKURS – festival for young performing arts - will take place from October 6 to 11, 2009. For the 25th time, students of Applied Theatre Studies invite young artists from various disciplines to Gießen.

DISKURS 09 is open to various forms of performance, theatre, dance, installation, video, music, radio play. The works do not have to fulfil a certain thematic requirement, but with regards to form and content, they should present a specific approach that is open for discussion. DISKURS 09 looks for the coexistence of non-closed viewpoints. Diverse working approaches and phases interlock. Therefore, it provides a platform for already shown pieces as well as debut performances. The invitation to DISKURS 09 is not regarded as a guest performance, but as an integration of the participants in the whole festival process.

DISKURS 09 takes care of travelling expenses, transport charges and accommodation.

Please send detailed applications along with description as well as video-, audio-, text-material or pictures of previous and/or current works. The closing date for all applications is May 31st, 2009. There is no liability assumed for the posted application documents. Applications are not going to be sent back or archived. The returning of documents has to be explicitly required by the applicant who accepts the expenses. Please add a post-paid self-addressed envelope.

Atelier

DISKURS 09 perceives itself as a process. Therefore, there will be set up a local laboratory for artistic work and for experiments. 5-10 young European artists will be invited to come to Gießen and work together on a certain topic. Further information about Atelier and its deadline will be announced in April.
